# tl;dr — Support

> tl;dr is a Chrome extension and web app that generates AI-powered summaries of articles, YouTube videos, PDFs, and newsletters. This document covers how to get help, troubleshoot common issues, and contact the team.

## Getting help

- **Support chat**: Visit [tl-dr.cc/support](https://tl-dr.cc/support) to ask a question via the AI-powered support chat. It knows tl;dr's features, pricing, and common issues.
- **FAQ**: Visit [tl-dr.cc/faq](https://tl-dr.cc/faq) for quick answers to common questions.
- **Email**: For anything else, email hello@tl-dr.cc — a real human will respond.

## Common troubleshooting

**Extension not working on a page**
1. Refresh the page and try clicking the orange tl;dr tab again.
2. Make sure tl;dr is pinned in Chrome's toolbar (click the puzzle piece icon, then pin tl;dr).
3. Try reloading the extension from chrome://extensions.
4. Sign out and back in from the Account tab inside the extension.
5. If none of that works, email hello@tl-dr.cc with the URL you were trying to summarize.

**Summaries not saving**
Make sure you're signed in. Check the Account tab in the extension. If you're on the free plan, verify you haven't hit the 10-summary monthly limit.

**YouTube not working**
tl;dr reads YouTube's auto-generated or uploaded captions. If a video has no captions available, tl;dr can't summarize it.

**Can't find a shared summary link**
Shared summary pages are public and accessible at tl-dr.cc/s/[id]. If Private Mode was on when the summary was created, it won't have a shareable link.

## Plans and billing

- **Free**: 10 summaries per month, 3 follow-up chat turns per conversation.
- **Plus** ($8/month): unlimited summaries, unlimited chat, priority support.
- **Pro** ($18/month): everything in Plus, plus higher-quality AI model for summaries.

Cancel or upgrade any time from the Account tab in the extension. No cancellation flow — one click.

## Account and data

- Delete individual summaries from the History panel in the extension.
- Delete your account from the Account tab — all data removed within 30 days.
- Export all your summaries and conversations from the Account tab at any time.
- We do not sell your data or use it to train AI models.
